Operation Homefront

Mission Statement:

Operation Homefront-Illinois (OH-IL) provides emergency assistance to active duty Illinois military families with a spouse who is deployed and wounded warriors who have returned home from service. OH-IL also conducts a number of morale programs annually in service to Illinois military families.

Operation Homefront -Illinois is proud to partner with Illinois Patriot Education Fund to better serve Illinois’ military families by working collaboratively to address the various needs experienced by those families who protect and defend our Nation.

Educational Scholarship

Operation Homefront and the Women’s Self Worth Foundation are proud to announce the 2011 Saban Military Wife Educational Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to wives of uniformed service members to attend vocational training programs in the medical field. Applications will be accepted starting on  April 1.  The Scholarships will be awarded to recipients on August 15, 2012.

Backpack Brigade

In 2011, Illinois Patriot Education Fund partnered with Operation Homefront to fund the distribution of over 1,000 backpacks locally within the State of  Illinois.  Soon it will be  that time of year again and Operation Homefront wants to lend a hand to Illinois military families. Getting children ready to go back to school can be a costly venture, but you can help! We are now collecting new school supplies for children of all ages.

ITEMS NEEDED: Backpacks, notebooks, notebook paper, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers, calculators, glue, glue sticks, rulers, and other school supplies.   Your efforts through the Illinois Patriot Education Fund will also go to support this great effort for 2012.

Are you a military family in need of schools supplies for your children? Operation Homefront wants to provide the help your children get the new school year off to a great start! Registration begins July 1st for most chapters.  All Military Branches in pay grades E1 through E6 are entitled to register their children to receive these items. Please bring your military identification card. For more information and qualifications please contact your local chapter.
